One Day Off (2023)

1 - Unshackling the Mind

Tired of teaching her seemingly unresponsive students, Park Ha-kyung takes off to a temple in a remote part of Haenam. Thats when she crosses paths with a silent stranger seeking inner peace, and they set out on a walk together. After taking deep breaths and meditating, she finally finds peace to unshackle her mind.

2 - Dreams and Hand-Dripped Sorrow

After spouting clichéd advice about pursuing music to her student, Park Ha-kyung yearns for a breather. In Gunsan, she visits a former pupil holding an art exhibition, and there she rediscovers her old self cheering on young dreams.

3 - Meta-Romance

Ha-kyung makes her way to the Busan International Film Festival, ready to be immersed in cinematic magic. As she settles to catch a film, her eyes lock with those of a stranger. From then on, they keep bumping into each other – at a noodle joint, a used book store, and a subway station.

4 - The Way Back

Ha-kyung dials up customer service when her parents lose their Internet connection. After an exhausting marathon on the phone, she decides to clear her head in Sokcho. But things take an unexpected turn at the bus terminal when she gets embroiled in a heated argument. Past experiences clash with forward-thinking opinions, but when loved ones enter the picture, all that tension melts away miraculously.

5 - Dance Even If You Trip

Thanks to a missed train, Ha-kyung takes a delightful detour to Daejeon. Caught up in the beauty of dancing, stargazing, and breaking bread with an amicable stranger, she explores what it means to be off track. After all, travel and life are all about losing your way into the unknown.

6 - Rainy Saturday

Ha-kyung finds herself in the eye of a storm – enraged parents protest a gaming tournament while students are excited about it. There is even a downpour keeping her in Seoul. After meandering through the drenched streets, she crosses paths with the schools art teacher and his pupils. Will this encounter give her some answers?

7 - The Island of Bread

Ha-kyung wings her way to Jeju, where her eyes are set on the islands top dozen bakeries. But her breadventure takes an unexpected turn with a little girl looking for snail bread. What exactly is snail bread? And why is a child set on finding it? Ha-kyung cant help but unravel this knead-to-know mystery!

8 - Back to Gyeongju

Ha-kyung steps foot again in Gyeongju, a city that echoes her high school field trip. All alone this time, she retraces the steps of her best friend, Jin-sol. As memories engulf her, a gentle reminder faces her again – growing up can wait, so lets embrace the present.
